Material transportation components
The material transportation screw component primarily consists of a threaded structure. Its purpose is to transport the material and provide it with a certain amount of force to overcome any resistance encountered in the flow channel. These transportation screw components are currently the most popular elements used in extruders. They have a strong transportation function, a short amount of time that the material stays in the system, and excellent self-cleaning properties.
Mixing components
The main function of the mixing screw component is to blend the materials together. It is used for the distribution and dispersion of the materials. The effectiveness of the dispersion and distribution is determined by the thickness of each disc. Additionally, the greater the angle, the more intense the shearing action. Conversely, the smaller the angle, the weaker the shearing action.
